IntroducingPaul, Wen-Shan WangClassical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy
Paul Wang, a dermatologist, is an artist of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. He was born in Canton, China and brought up in Chung King, China during WWII.
He started training at the age of 13 with the eminent Chinese landscape artist, Huang Chunpei, who, along with Chang Da-chien and Pu Ye, were the three dominating figures of the Chinese Painting scene during the past 50 years.
Dr. Wang’s artistic works include landscapes, ink bamboo, orchids flowers and calligraphy, will considered the highest form of artistic expression for true Chinese.
His style is totally traditional – meaning classical Chinese without the slightest trace of western influence. The Instruments he uses for these paintings, such as ink stone, ink, brushes and paper are the same as those used for centuries.
He has had numerous one-man shows in Michigan, New York, and mainland China. Several of his works were recently successfully auctioned at Christie’s in New York, a feat seldom accomplished by a living artist.
